Natura 2000 impact assessment

If the planned investment affects a nature conservation area of European Community importance – i.e. a Natura 2000 area – or is implemented in its immediate vicinity, it is mandatory to prove to the authorities that the project will not cause significant, irreversible damage to the designated habitats and the population of protected plant and animal species.

The Natura 2000 Regulation requires strict and detailed procedures for carrying out Natura 2000 impact assessments (compliance assessments). Failure to do so, or submitting inadequately substantiated, incomplete documentation, can lead to the entire permitting process being stalled, the project being put on hold for months (or even years), and significant financial losses. Impact assessments are not just an administrative task that can be done at a desk, but require serious field expertise, ecological modelling and an engineering approach.

The experienced experts of Safety For All Ltd. conduct precise on-site surveys to ensure that the investment not only meets the strictest legal requirements before government agencies, but is also sustainable and environmentally safe in the long term.
